Events at Airs, Reels and Ballads

As part of Airs, Reels and Ballads, our collaborative exhibition with The Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh (1-29 November 2017), on Saturday 25th November we'll be hosting a number of events during the day featuring some of the artists who will be exhibiting with us.

These events are free to attend but spaces are limited so we'd recommend registering for your free ticket as soon as possible. And please note that you'll need to register separately for each event.

Mark Hearld and Jonathan Gibbs in conversation

At 11am artists Mark Hearld and Jonathan Gibbs will be in conversation, sharing thoughts about their working methods and talking about the works that each are exhibiting at The Scottish Gallery.

There will be a chance to ask questions at the end of the talk and Mark will be signing copies of his book, 'Mark Hearld's Work Book', published by Merrell.

Ed Kluz 'The Lost House Revisited'

Then at 1pm artist Ed Kluz will be in conversation with James Turner of Historic Environment Scotland, talking about Ed's 'The Lost House Revisited', the first book devoted to the popular artist, illustrator and printmaker, presenting an extensive selection of his striking collages of lost country houses, as well as scraperboards and antique prints.

There will be a chance to ask questions at the end of the event and Ed will be signing copies of his book.

A musical performance by Monsieur McHulot and Django B. Goode

Finally, at 2.30pm Jonny Hannah and Jonathan Gibbs will perform as Monsieur McHulot and Django B. Goode, performing music that explores their shared enthusiasm for jazz, blues and folk.

Airs, Reels and Ballads is curated by St Jude's and The Scottish Gallery, featuring the work of 19 painters, printmakers and makers.
